Aged Hei Shan Raw Liu Bao is a loose-leaf dark tea from Wuzhou, Guangxi, made in a raw style and aged over time to develop a deep, grounded character. Hei Shan translates to “Black Mountain,” a fitting name for a tea with a dark, earthy profile and a smooth, mature presence in the cup.
This tea is sourced as an aged spring-harvest Liu Bao from the late 2000s, with a profile shaped by time, storage, and natural transformation rather than wet-pile fermentation. It offers a calm, layered infusion with notes of aged wood, mineral earth, dried herbs, forest floor, bark, and a quiet sweetness beneath the darker tones.
While its raw processing and aged character may appeal to drinkers of older sheng puerh, this is not puerh. It is Liu Bao, a traditional dark tea from Guangxi with its own regional identity, aging environment, and flavor profile.
The loose, ungraded leaf includes a mix of buds and mature leaves, giving the tea a full expression and a rounded texture. This is a thoughtful choice for drinkers who enjoy aged Chinese teas with earthiness, depth, and a clean, lingering finish.
