A Fuding green tea scented with Fujian jasmine flowers, full-bodied with notes of jasmine, umami, and honeyed sweetness.
This tea pairs Fuding Yin Hao ("Silver Hairs") green tea with jasmine flowers grown in Fujian. The tea leaves were harvested in late April and the jasmine blossoms a month later, in late May, then layered together so the leaf takes on the floral scent naturally.
The brewed liquor has real body, with a thick tea soup. Jasmine leads on the nose, but the vegetal, fresh-grass and fruit character of the Yin Hao green tea sits right behind it, complementing rather than competing with the floral notes.
The cup is sweet and umami-forward, with a rich, honey-like mouthfeel and jasmine carried through the finish. An excellent jasmine green tea.
