Tochiri Kyusu

This finely crafted Banko-yaki kyusu from Yokkaichi is formed from traditional Banko shidei clay, prized for its soft purple hue and its ability to gently mellow a tea’s astringency. The surface is finished with the classic “tochiri” (also called “biri”) pattern—created by lightly bouncing a razor against the vessel as it turns on the wheel—producing a distinctive textured design.

The teapot features an integrated ceramic debeso filter, allowing for clean, natural straining without metal.
